A Review: JUGHEAD THE HUNGER VERSUS VAMPIRONICA #1

The Fellowship was fortunate enough to obtain a copy of JUGHEAD THE HUNGER VERSUS VAMPIRONICA #1 from Archie Comics. The story is written by Frank Tieri; with art by Pat & Tim Kennedy and Joe Eisma, inks by Bob Smith and Ryan Jampole, colors by Matt Herms, and lettering by Jack Morelli.

It’s a time for joy as the gang celebrates ridding the world (at least Riverdale) of vampires…or so they thought.  Veronica soon finds out that vampires do indeed exist and she may still be one. But how is this possible? After dealing with some unwelcome company, Veronica goes searching for answers. She has little time to process the information she is given when something incredible happens…

Archie’s horror line has been top notch material from the beginning, and this newest entry is no exception. This issue has it all: action, intrigue, drama, surprises…and that ending. Frank Tieri has been knocking it out of the park on JUGHEAD THE HUNGER; it makes sense that he handles this crossover. So far so good, but can’t wait for the meeting of the titular characters. It also a brainer that Joe Eisma and Pat & Tim Kennedy, and Matt Herms are brought on to keep the visual continuity there. Such a great looking book; hard to believe this is Archie and friends! A must get for fans of either series, or horror fans in general.
