A Review: HEADHUNTER #1

The Fellowship was fortunate enough to obtain a copy of HEADHUNTER #1 from Sitcomics. The story is written by Darin Henry; with pencils and inks by Steven E. Gordon, colors by Glenn Whitmore, and lettering by Marshall Dillon.

Its midnight in Baltimore, Maryland and a group of child smugglers are processing their latest group when…HE appeared. Headhunter takes out the traffickers in quick fashion. Preparing to leave, he hears the cries of an infant and decides to take him home. Unsure what to do with him; Headhunter takes the baby to the Heroes Union Headquarters. A misunderstanding leads to a battle of heroes until Startup’s coolheaded approach stopped the fighting…for now.

A new hero has appeared in the Sitcomics-verse, and I’m not sure what to make of him. That is actually a good thing; not revealing everything in the first issue (or chapter in this case) makes me want to learn more. The third party narration is perfect, especially at the point where he gets so confused of our hero’s actions that he wants to give up.  The rest of the book is some great super-heroic writing I’ve come to expect from Darin Henry. Steven E. Gordon, Glenn Whitmore, and Marshall Dillon provide a dynamic visual to a rather intriguing character. I’m SO ready for chapter Two.  Check it out!

HEADHUNTER #1 will be available soon on ComiXology. Also, if your local comic store is not carrying Sitcomics’ Binge Books, not a problem! They can go to Sitcomics.net and make it happen!
