A Review: BRAIN BOY: THE MEN FROM G.E.S.T.A.L.T. #1

The Fellowship was fortunate enough to obtain a copy of BRAIN BOY: THE MEN FROM G.E.S.T.A.L.T. #1 from Dark Horse Comics. The story is by Fred Van Lente, with art by Freddie Williams II, colors by Jeremy Colwell, and lettering by Nate Piekos of Blambot.

A mysterious armored person with mental powers attacks the White House with the President and First Lady being the primary targets! The call goes out for Agent Matt Price (AKA Brain Boy) to head to Washington, D.C. to deal with the threat, but where is he? And what part does the men from G.E.S.T.A.L.T. play into these events?

Fred Van Lente has done an awesome job of making the 60’s concept of Brain Boy and modernized it. Let’s face it; he made Matt Price bad ass cool. The stories are packed with great action, humor (love the inside jokes), and intrigue. Freddie Williams’ art is very detailed and action packed. It seems that he and Van Lente work well together and I hope stay as BRAIN BOY’s creative team. Overall, I like the way Dark Horse is uniting their hero universe and I have high hopes for the future.
