A Review: MPH #1

The Fellowship was fortunate enough to obtain a copy of MPH #1 from Image Comics. Mark Millar writes and Duncan Fegredo draws.

Roscoe is a small-time hood with big-time dreams. His goal is to get rich and get out of the drug business, and he’s actually got a plan. But he gets busted on a drop and goes to prison. Just as he’s at his lowest point, a pusher finds him and gives him a random pill out of his stash. And that pill will change Roscoe’s life forever.

That pill has just about as much backstory as Roscoe (not going to spoil it, though). Let’s just say it has a history that may be unfolding very soon. And Roscoe seems like a nice guy, believe it or not, so it’s easy to hope that his life gets better. The story has a lot of potential, and the art is also really nice – the “special effects” are pretty sweet.

This looks like another quality addition to the Millarworld universe. Not only is Millar on a roll these days, but Image adds another feather to its cap.

MPH #1 is available now at your FLCS or at imagecomics.com.
