A Review: THE FIELD #1

The Fellowship was fortunate enough to obtain a copy of THE FIELD #1 from Image Comics. Ed Brisson writes, Simon Roy draws and Simon Gough colors.

Imagine waking up in a wheat field in your undies next to someone else’s cellphone. It buzzes, telling you to run, just as a hatchback nearly runs you down. The guy driving the car has a gun and is more than a little crazy. Oh, and you have no idea who you are or what your flashbacks mean.

There are simply a ton of mysteries packed into this first issue. Who is the hero? Who is the guy in the hatchback? What’s the loophole? This is just the beginning, and it looks like we’ll get more questions before we get a lot of answers. And it looks like it will be fun finding out. Something strange is out there waiting for our nameless hero, and right now we can’t tell if it’s good or bad. But it’s surely entertaining.

This is a really cool first issue, building a great deal of mystery and anticipation. Learning more about this guy and his troubles should prove to be an exciting story.

THE FIELD #1 is available now at your FLCS or at imagecomics.com.
