A Review: THE SIX MILLION DOLLAR MAN: SEASON SIX #1

The Fellowship was fortunate enough to obtain a copy of THE SIX MILLION DOLLAR MAN: SEASON SIX #1 from Dynamite Entertainment. The story is by Jim Kuhoric, with art by Juan Antonio Ramirez, colors by Fran Gamboa, and lettering by Joshua Cozine.

The Venus One Space Orbiter has splashdown off the Florida coast after encountering a radiation cloud which knocked out its communications. Steve joins a group whose task is to recover the orbiter and find out what happened. That’s easier said than done. Meanwhile, Oscar attends a meeting in which another OSI agent presents M.A.S.K.A.T.RON - a robot that can do everything the six million dollar man can do, but cheaper and more controllable. Are Steve’s days numbered?

I think it’s kinda cool that Dynamite wants to continue the original TV show’s continuity. And they start off by bringing back MASKATRON as a possible replacement for Steve Austin no less! Interesting. This is a very promising start to the series. Jim Kuhoric’s story has it all, action, intrigue, and drama. Juan Antonio Ramirez and Fran Gamboa make a great art team; the pages were awesome to see. You need to get this just for the shark battle sequence alone!

THE SIX MILLION DOLLAR MAN: SEASON SIX #1 is in stores now, or available for ordering at www.dynamite.com.
