A Review: BATTLESTAR GALACTICA #8

The Fellowship was fortunate enough to obtain a copy of BATTLESTAR GALACTICA #8 from Dynamite Entertainment. The story is by Dan Abnett, with art by Cesar Razek, colors by Vinicius Andrade, and lettering by Colton Worley.

While in the middle of this mysterious storm zone, the Galactica discovers a huge artifact which Adama claims is Earth. A private meeting is held between Apollo, Starbuck, and Doctor Madusa about the dreams, the artifact and the dangers that await them. A viper patrol is launched to check and see if the Cylons have entered the storm in pursuit. Unfortunately, they have. While Colonel Tigh suggests the fleet escape, Adama insists that they stay and study the artifact. Apollo, with the backing of Doctor Madusa, does the hardest thing he has ever done in his life…

The thing is while this has the appearance and vibe of classic Galactica, the stories could fit just in as well with the later version. To me, that makes it a great story. Could this “artifact” be responsible for the dreams? I’m not sure, but will stick around to find out. I’m really enjoying this series.

BATTLESTAR GALACTICA #8 is in stores now, or available to order at www.Dynamite.com.
