A Review: CODENAME: ACTION #1

The Fellowship was fortunate enough to obtain a copy of CODENAME: ACTION #1 from Dynamite Entertainment. Chris Roberson writes and Jonathan Lau draws.

It’s the Cold War, and it’s heating up quickly. We’ve got a new agent, though, and he’s very good. Current problems require drastic measures, so he’s teamed up with the legendary Agent 5 to find a supposedly missing world leader. And some French agents are having their own problems, as is the American Crusader. These are very busy times.

This book is firmly entrenched in international espionage, and if that’s not enough for you, we also get a nice dose of costumed hero. The setting is steeped in a world much like the Bondverse circa the late 1970s, and there are some great possibilities in that era. The main players are introduced (despite some interesting developments that would be no fun to spoil) and the story is primed and ready.

There’s a fascinating world being built in this title, and I’m quite looking forward to seeing where it goes. The potential here is positively epic. Whatever happens, I’m sure it will be an exciting ride.

CODENAME: ACTION #1 is available now at your LCS and online at dynamite.com.
