A Review: FATHOM- THE ELITE SAGA #2

The Fellowship was fortunate enough to obtain a copy of FATHOM- THE ELITE SAGA #2 from Aspen Comics. The plot is by Vince Hernandez, J.T. Krul, and David Wohl, the script is by J.T. Krul, pencils by V. Ken Marion, digital inks by Mark Roslan, colors by Kyle Ritter, and lettering by Josh Reed.

Anya has gone to great lengths to recruit Aspen Matthews in effort to locate her newborn child Anika. The two receive assistance from Baha, who leads them to the city of Mozskil. What dangers (and familiar face) await them? Meanwhile, Killian is trying to find them both and dares to return to Aescylot to find them. He finds out that Terza is now her people’s deity: Kira.

This issue (and series) does a great job of continuing the FATHOM franchise while adding something new and exciting. V. Ken Marion’s art is incredibly beautiful; you can see Michael Turner’s influence here. Kyle Ritter’s colors are so vibrant, even in the dark depths of the ocean. This book is a great way to get old and new readers on board in time to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the publisher and the fifteenth anniversary of FATHOM.
