A Review: THE DELINQUENTS #1

The Fellowship was fortunate enough to obtain a copy of THE DELINQUENTS #1 from Valiant Entertainment. James Asmus writes (with story help from Fred Van Lente) and Kano draws and colors.

Armstrong used to be a hobo, and was entrusted with a treasure map, part of which he lost years ago. But now the lost part has turned up, and Quantum and Woody have been hired to reassemble it. So the worst superheroes in the world and everyone’s favorite “odd couple” adventurers are on a collision course. And may heaven help anyone who gets caught in the middle.

The premise is simple here – it’s a treasure hunt. But it’s really not your average, everyday treasure hunt. The map is made from some dude’s butt, after all. And the people doing the hunting are far from normal, as anyone familiar with Archer & Armstrong and/or Quantum & Woody will attest. But the twists are hilarious, and the laughs just keep coming. (And yes, the goat is along for the ride.) As for the art, there are lots of trains. Very nice ones, I must say.

It would be easy to say that anyone who doesn’t like this book hates fun. And it’s likely true. But it’s a bit over-general. Nevertheless, go pick up this book.

THE DELINQUENTS #1 is available now at your FLCS or at valiantuniverse.com.
