A Review: HASHTAG: DANGER #1

The Fellowship was fortunate enough to obtain a copy of HASHTAG: DANGER #1 from Ahoy Comics. The stories are written by Tom Peyer; with art by Chris Giarrusso.

Our team is in the Himalayas to find and prove the existence of the Yeti. The mission is a total train wreck, but manages to return home with a Yeti offspring. Einstein was had enough and relieves Desiree of command and invokes a by-law for her court-martial! The team is unaware of what dangers are heading their way…

What a crazy, but enjoyable book! Somehow Tom Peyer is able to make this totally dysfunctional team functional in spite of themselves. I am a fan of Giarrusso’s cartoony art style, and it works with the comic chaos we are witnessing. Also included is a tale titled “What’s the Deal with Waiting in Line” written by Paul Constant; with art by Fred Harper, colors by Lee Loughridge, and lettering by Ron Steen. It tells of a one-time big stand-up comedian dealing with a fan while waiting in line to get in a nightclub. The book concludes with two short tales from Mark Russell & Gunnar De Winter, with illustrations by Alan Robinson & Charlie Sam. If this is any indication of how this series will go, it will be nothing short of fun filled chaos. Check it out.
