A Review: JUGHEAD: THE HUNGER #5

The Fellowship was fortunate enough to obtain a copy of JUGHEAD: THE HUNGER #5 from Archie Comics. The story is written by Frank Tieri; with art by Pat & Tim Kennedy and Joe Eisma, colors by Matt Herms, Andre Szymanowicz, and Kelsey Shannon; inks by Bob Smith and Jim Amash, and lettering by Jack Morelli.

After being away from Riverdale for months, Jughead decides to come home only to find out he is wanted as “The Riverdale Ripper.” He will soon find out that he was expected, and were prepared for his arrival. Meanwhile, Archie realizes that monster hunting isn’t for him and leaves the Coopers. He wishes things were the way they were before…but those days are long gone.

Archie Comics’ horror line has been high quality from the get go, and JUGHEAD: THE HUNGER is no exception. Frank Tieri is crafting some first rate scripts that brings the drama and horror, while remaining true to the characters that we all know and love. Another top notch work provided by the tag team of Pat & Tim Kennedy and Joe Eisma. Matt Herms colors have been equally great, and in this issue he was aided by Andre Szymanowicz and Kelsey Shannon. It’s not too late to get on board this series. You won’t regret it.
