A Review: CLUE #1

The Fellowship was fortunate enough to obtain a copy of CLUE #1 from IDW Publishing. The story is by Paul Allor, with art by Nelson Daniel and letters by Neil Uyetake.

You are invited to a dinner party at Mr. Boddy’s mansion. Among the guests are Miss Scarlett, Colonel Mustard, Mrs. Peacock, Professor Plum, Senator White, and Mr. Green. The bad weather matches the mood of all the invited. Things change severely when the host is found murdered. But who would want Mr. Boddy dead? And will there be more deaths before the night is over?

As a fan of the game (and the 80’s film), I was excited to check this book out and was not disappointed in the least. I really love the humor; the butler Upton is great and the nod and wink to the readers is wonderful. Paul Allor Daniel weave a smart and fun little mystery with no shortage of suspects that all have a reason to kill. Add to that the variant issues with its own ending and clues on the covers that may point to the guilty party. SO much more than a standard whodunit. Bravo to all involved. Check it out and I think you will agree.

CLUE #1 is in stores now or available at www.idwpublishing.com.
