A Review: OFF GIRL #1

The Fellowship was fortunate enough to obtain a copy of OFF GIRL #1 from Project Climax LLC. Tina Fine writes, and Mark Reihill draws.

Julia is a normal woman with an extraordinary problem. Something happens when she has an orgasm, and it’s really freaking her out. She’s tried to get medicated, to take the edge off if you will, but it doesn’t seem to be working anymore. In a crowded subway car, she sees what appears to be a woman leave her body and fly through nearby men, killing them. And her sexual sensitivity seems to be getting worse.

Julia’s story is not the only one here, either. There’s also a killer targeting women in the city. And this book has a bit of an original take on the “superpower trigger” story. The story itself has several interesting threads to follow, and the art is very nice, especially focusing on the characters.

Obviously this is for mature readers, but it doesn’t stray beyond that barrier. And there’s a major twist that I don’t want to spoil; keep an eye on Ben, though. I’m looking forward to seeing where this story is going.

OFF GIRL #1 is available now from select comic shops, or online at offgirl.com.
