The Fellowship was fortunate enough to obtain a copy of MICHAEL
RECYCLE #1 from IDW Publishing. The story is written by Ellie Wharton,
illustrated by Alexandra Colombo, lettered by Shawn Lee, with layouts by Thom
Zahler. “Did You Know?” segment was written by Randall Lotowycz.
Michael Recycle is responding to an alert coming from the
North Pole. Meanwhile Solar Lola detects destructive twins raising havoc. With
the assistance of Bootleg Peg, our heroes must use their knowledge and
resources to save the day…and teach a valuable lesson. Can they do it???
The children’s book series MICHAEL RECYCLE by Ellie Patterson
comes to comics, a logical move in my opinion. This was a fun little story with
positive message for kids on how they can be more environmentally conscious.
However, that doesn’t mean older readers wouldn’t enjoy this book as well. This
is a cute comic and hope it is as successful here as it was as a book series.
