A Review: ETERNAL WARRIOR: DAYS OF STEEL #1

The Fellowship was fortunate enough to obtain a copy of ETERNAL WARRIOR: DAYS OF STEEL #1 from Valiant Entertainment. The story is written by Peter Milligan, illustrated by Cary Nord, with colors by Brian Reber, and letters by Dave Sharpe.

Gilad, the Eternal Warrior, is the living weapon of the Geomancer…and he tires of his missions. He is discouraged by the fact that nothing ever changes; all he sees is constant bloodshed. Unable to make the planet a more peaceful place, he intends to hide away from everyone. Unfortunately the Geomancer finds him with a new task: to protect a baby that is destined to be his people’s salvation. Reluctantly, Gilad decides to do the mission, but is he already too late?

It’s good to see Gilad flying solo again…even if it’s for a short series. He’s quickly becoming one of my favorite characters in the Valiant Universe. A warrior who wants to actually accomplish something significant (without violence) is a really intriguing idea that Peter Miiligan and Cary Nord executes perfectly. This is a book worth checking out!

ETERNAL WARRIOR: DAYS OF STEEL #1 is in stores now, or available for ordering at www.valiantentertainment.com.
