A Review: CHEWLER

The Fellowship was fortunate enough to obtain a copy of CHEWLER from Fifth Dimension Comics. David Brown writes, and Shannon Gretzon writes and draws.

Grandmother Supreme has a big problem, and “she” needs the best agent she can get. So she recalls Jim Chewler, retired General, total badass and complete nutjob. His mission, whether he chooses to accept it or not, is to keep the long-hidden remains of a certain dictator out of the hands of the bad guys. Adventure, madness and violence ensue.

This is a book that’s hard to describe, and I think that’s a beautiful thing. It’s got violence. It’s got madness (sometimes bordering on hallucination) on both sides of the battle. Chewler is one seriously messed up dude, and he’s the protagonist! And it all fits together to tell a good story. And the art (by the guy behind Exspastic Comics) helps to accent the madness without straying too far from “reality” to break the story.

If you’re into conspiracy stories, “weird” art, gripping adventure tales, or any combination of the three, go back this campaign now and get this book.
