A Review: SUPER SECRET CRISIS WAR #1

The Fellowship was fortunate enough to obtain a copy of SUPER SECRET CRISIS WAR #1 from IDW Publishing. The story is by Louise Simonson, with art by Derek Charm, and lettering by Tom B. Long.

The ultimate nightmare has happened! Aku, Vilgax, Mojo Jojo, and Mandark have joined forces as The League of Extraordinary Villains! Their plan: capture their arch nemeses through combat against (inferior) robots. The reason for these “trials”: to use them for world(s) domination! Having accomplished their task, the villains bask in their victory. However, the celebration may be a little premature…

First off, it’s great to have Louise Simonson writing comics once again. A long injustice has been righted. Second, I love that this is pretty much a poke at other publishers and their “events” that seem to be coming out every week. However, this doesn’t feel like a poke at those books, plus the fact that you are getting the great Cartoon Network characters together. Third (and most important), this was a fun read and can’t wait to see where things go from here!

SUPER SECRET CRISIS WAR #1 is in stores now, or available for ordering at www.idwpublishing.com.
