A Review: TALES FROM THE CON: YEAR ONE

The Fellowship was fortunate enough to obtain a copy of TALES FROM THE CON: YEAR ONE from Image Comics. Brad Guigar is the writer, and Chris Giarrusso is the illustrator.

Fans, vendors, cosplayers, creators, and volunteers are not safe when it comes to this seriously funny look at the sights, sounds (and unfortunately…smells) at the comic book convention. Brad Guigar and Chris Giarrusso poke fun at whole experience of convention going and all that it entails.

It’s really hard to read this one-shot and NOT laugh. The book collects the first year of the webcomic that has appeared on Emerald City Comic Con’s website since 2012. I just wonder how many of these have actually happened (and I'm sure some of these have). The one that pops out is the fan talking to Giarrusso about the mainstream book he did, but when the artist tries to promote his own creation the “fan” disappears! This is a very humorous book that any convention geek (and non-convention geeks) would enjoy. Do yourself a favor and pick this up!

TALES FROM THE CON: YEAR ONE is in stores now, or available for ordering at www.imagecomics.com.
