A Review: INDESTRUCTIBLE #5

The Fellowship was fortunate enough to obtain a copy of INDESTRUCTIBLE #5 from IDW Publishing. Ken Kristensen writes, Giancarlo Caracuzzo draws and Flavia Caracuzzo colors.

Greg’s new life is starting to get complicated. He can’t get next to the girl he likes. He can’t get away from the shallow bimbo. He can’t make his mother happy. And his roomie/sidekick is driving his superhero career like it was stolen (which it is, technically). And now he’s being tailed, or at least he was until Barry got involved.

This book starts a new arc with a new creative team, and it really looks good. The art team is doing top-notch work, and Kristensen’s humor is a perfect fit (though I’ll never look at a Toblerone bar the same way again). Stoner has 99 problems, all right, and they appear to be multiplying like rabbits. There could be a moral about deception in this story, but if there is, it’s hiding behind the comedy. And there’s plenty of that to hide behind.

Greg Pincus is Stoner, and he’s a superhero. Well, kind of. The longer his charade goes on, the harder he will fall. But man, is it going to be fun to watch. Get on board this one and enjoy the ride.

INDESTRUCTIBLE #5 is available now at your FLCS or at idwpublishing.com or darbypop.com.
