A Review: CAPTAIN MIDNIGHT #7

The Fellowship was fortunate enough to obtain a copy of CAPTAIN MIDNIGHT #7 from Dark Horse Comics. The story is by Joshua Williamson, with art by Eduardo Francisco, colors by Stefani Rennee, and lettering by Nate Piekos of Blambot.

Captain Midnight is trying to take down the masked muscular brute called Hollow, but is having a difficult time. But the Captain takes strength from looking at the monument in honor of the fallen heroes of World War II to defeat his adversary. Another costumed man appears in tries to aid Midnight, but why does his teleportation device seem so familiar? Meanwhile, we find out where Agent Jones is taken, and a little more light is shed on “Project Black Sky.”

Joshua Williamson has done a great job of bringing a forgotten hero from the Golden Age of Comics and makes him into an interesting character. While there are some similarities to another Golden Age hero being brought into today’s world, there’s a freshness which is great to experience. I’m really curious to see what develops with the Project Black Sky which is being used to bring all of Dark Horse’s heroes into a shared universe. It’s not too late to get on this book!

CAPTAIN MIDNIGHT #7 is in stores now, or available to order at www.Darkhorse.com.
