A Review: WARLORD OF MARS: DEJAH THORIS #31

The Fellowship was fortunate enough to obtain a copy of WARLORD OF MARS: DEJAH THORIS #31 from Dynamite Entertainment. The story is by Robert Place Napton, with art by Carlos Rafael, colors by Carlos Lopez, and lettering by Marshall Dillon.

Dejah Thoris is checking in on Professor Bor Vik’s group who are investigating an ancient Time Portal located in the dead city of Dorvas. A spy within the group attacks, during which results in Dejah Thoris being accidentally hurled one thousand years into the future.  She finds herself in a middle of a war between Jasoomians and the Barsoom Resistance. The Jasoomians capture her, believing she is someone else. What is going on here? Who is the mysterious woman, and how does Dejah Thoris get back to her own time?

This was a nice, solid issue full of action and intrigue, yet it wasn’t anything that I hadn’t read before. That part of the dangers of stories dealing with time travel. I always like looking at Carlos Rafael’s art; it’s so gorgeous. I’ll read the rest of the arc because I’m interested to see how it ends. Maybe there will be a couple of surprises along the way.

WARLORD OF MARS: DEJAH THORIS #31 is in stores now, or available to order at www.Dynamite.com.
