A Review: KISS KIDS #1

The Fellowship was fortunate enough to obtain a copy of KISS KIDS #1 from IDW Publishing. The stories are by Chris Ryall and Tom Waltz, art by Jose Holder, colors by Jeremy Colwell and lettering by Gilberto Lazcano.

Here are the adventures of Starchild, Catkid, Spacey, and Li’l Demon…the KISS Kids! Join them as they:  go shopping for new boots and clothes for school, celebrate Li’l Demon’s birthday, deal with an annoying babysitter, walk  along with Li’l Demon as he does his newspaper route, and encounter the KISS Kids robots.

It was the art that originally drew me to this book, the characters are so cute! I definitely see merchandising potential in this version of the group (I’m sure Gene is already working on it). Most of the stories are short (two pages), but they are cute and humorous. Li’l Demon seems the main focus for a lot of the tales, but each character gets a chance to shine. This is a book that anyone can read and enjoy, even those who aren't fans of the band.

KISS KIDS #1 is in stores now or available for ordering at www.IDWPublishing.com.
