A Review: MASKS #8

The Fellowship was fortunate enough to obtain a copy of MASKS #8 from Dynamite Comics. The story is by Chris Roberson, art by Dennis Calero, art direction by Alex Ross, and lettering by Simon Bowland.

The Masks are all together to eliminate the threat of the Justice Party once and for all. They must also deal with the leader, Brian O’Brien formerly the hero known as The Clock. But will they be able to stop the Black Legion’s march to Washington D.C. to take control of the United States? Will justice truly be served?

This was a satisfying conclusion to a really good mini-series. The idea of the Justice Party “legally” trying to take control of the country is an intriguing concept and I love the idea. Kudos to Chris Roberson for coming up with a fun, action pack thriller worthy of the pulp heroes. Dennis Calero and Alex Ross create a visual treat that’s hard not to enjoy. I really hope these guys (both creators and characters) will reunite for a sequel.
