A Review: CAPTAIN MIDNIGHT #0

The Fellowship was fortunate enough to obtain a copy of CAPTAIN MIDNIGHT #0 from Dark Horse Comics. The story is by Joshua Williamson, art by Victor Ibanez and Pere Perez, colors by EGO, and lettering by Nate Piekos of Blambot. The issue collects the three stories from Dark Horse Presents #18–#20.

Captain Midnight, a top notch aviator, expert inventor, and hero, has reappeared after being last seen during World War II. Agent Jones and a pilot named Richard Mitchell are trying to piece together his last mission, how he has arrived at this time and where he is going. They may not like the answers they get.

Dark Horse continues to build their Super Hero community with the addition of a character from the Golden Age of comics. Joshua Williamson has created a great mystery regarding Albright’s last mission while not slacking on the action. Victor Ibanez and Pere Perez’s art is great and it shows that they are up to the task. I’m looking forward to the series to see what Williamson and company do with the classic hero in the modern times.
