A Review: JENNIFER BLOOD #25

The Fellowship was fortunate enough to obtain a copy of JENNIFER BLOOD #25 from Dynamite Entertainment. The story is by Michael Carroll, art by Eman Cassalos, colors by Inlight Studios, and lettering is by Rob Steen.

Despite being having dozen of stab wounds by the other inmates in the courtyard, Jennifer survives the attack. During the couple of months of her healing, the board discusses what do with her…not necessarily for her protection as more for the concern of the general population of the prison. It is decided that Jennifer should receive a psychiatric evaluation.

Once back in general population, Jennifer does her best NOT to start any trouble, and talks to the different psychiatrists, but says very little. She also reads the stacks of fan mail she receives daily…including the ones that instruct her on about trying to escape prison…

This is a really intriguing story line here by Mr. Ewing. Jennifer certainly knows how to kick butt and take no prisoners (no pun intended). Eman Cassalos’ art is great and very realistic. I wasn’t all that familiar with the series and it would be nice to have a “previously” page to get new readers up to speed. However, I am interested enough in this series to go back to get the trades and catch up.

JENNIFER BLOOD #25 is in stores now or available at www.dynamite.com.
