A Review: GRIMM FAIRY TALES PRESENTS: BAD GIRLS #1

The Fellowship was fortunate enough to obtain a copy of GRIMM FAIRY TALES PRESENTS: BAD GIRLS #1 from Zenescope Entertainment. Joey Esposito writes, and Rafael Lanhellas draws.

The Mistress of Limbo has a plan. And given who she’s got helping her in her plan, the result is not likely to be a happy one. She has assembled some of the most powerful, most evil women in the four realms, and their goal is to make a monumentally bad day for Sela, who has thwarted their plans individually in the past. But what can Sela do to stop them? And what is their larger goal?

This appears to be a simple power team-up scenario. In this case, though, the team-up is of villains, all of whom have a bone to pick with a specific hero. The hero in this case, Sela, is already depressed, having lost something important to her in her last episode. And since these are all established characters in the Grimm universe, this series can settle back and enjoy itself, setting up what I’m sure will be an epic battle and a storyline that could very well prove interesting.

This is a story that has enough hints of a story beyond simple revenge that we could easily be beginning a rollicking good trip. Good splatter art, too. I like this one so far.

GRIMM FAIRY TALES PRESENTS: BAD GIRLS #1 is available now at your FLCS or by order from zenescope.com.
