A Review: ROCKETEER ADVENTURES Volume Two #3

The Fellowship was fortunate enough to obtain a copy of ROCKETEER ADVENTURES Volume Two #3 from IDW Publishing. The stories are by David Lapham, Kyle Baker and Matt Wagner with art by Chris Sprouse, Kyle Baker and Eric Canete.

In “Coulda Been,” Cliff and Betty end their date at an abandoned farmhouse that Cliff has been eyeing. The two talk about settling down and having a more quite life together. But is that what they really want and can they ask the other to give up their current lifestyle?

In “Butchy Saves Betty,” it’s not all fun and games when the jet pack is accidently strapped on Butchy the dog.

In “History Lesson,” the heroic life of Cliff Secord – The Rockeeter is being taught in a classroom in the future. I won’t give away the ending, but I’m sure you can figure it out.

First off, I’m a big fan of the Rocketeer. The action, adventure and fun of these stories CAN NOT be denied. This mini-series has done a great job of capturing the spirit of what the late Dave Stevens created. If you think the fun of comics are gone, I’d suggest getting this book and rediscover the magic.

ROCKETEER ADVENTURES Volume Two #3 is in comic stores now and at www.idwpublishing.com.
