A Review: NANCY IN HELL ON EARTH #3

The Fellowship was fortunate enough to obtain a copy of NANCY IN HELL ON EARTH #3 from Image Comics. El Torres writes, and Enrique Lopez Lorenzana draws.

Nancy Simmons is having a bad day. She’s dead, the world is being assaulted by angels bent on destroying humanity (with nukes, by the way), and she and Lucifer are forced to make a deal with the “man” who killed her in order to stop the lunatic controlling the whole attack. Apocalypse, anyone?

Apparently the only prerequisite for successfully taking down an angel with a chainsaw is having traveled between worlds. If you can get your head around that fact, you’ll be right at home in this miniseries. There is a twisted plot (though I think I’ll need issue 4 to figure it out) but it’s rather fun, and the art is oddly real (warning: angel nudity). I’m still not sure who the good guys are, other than Nancy, and I’m not sure it matters.

This is an entertaining book which deals with apocalyptic themes without bringing zombies into it. An oddity in this day and age, but a worthy one. It’s certainly worth checking out.

NANCY IN HELL ON EARTH #3 is available now at your FLCS or by order from imagecomics.com.
