A Review: THE BIONIC WOMAN #2

The Fellowship was fortunate enough to obtain a copy of THE BIONIC WOMAN #2 from Dynamite Comics. The comic is based on the classic Universal TV series THE BIONIC WOMAN. The story is by Paul Tobin with Leno Carvalho handling the art.

Jamie Summers is being hunted down to be killed and have her bionic parts harvested. Of course, Jamie has other ideas…like kicking some major butt and helping her new friend Nora escape. But who is behind all of this?

Wow. This issue really shows what a badass Jamie can be. I don’t remember if she had a computer in her head from the old TV show, but this issue shows that it can be handy. If you have read Paul Tobin’s previous work (Spider-Girl, Models Inc.), you know he writes female characters very well and this series is no exception.  I am not familiar with Leno Carvalho’s art, but he handles the action scenes with ease and is beautiful.

If you are looking for a comic that feature strong female lead, you won't be disappointed with this one. You don’t need to be reading THE BIONIC MAN to understand what’s going on in this book. Definitely will keep up with this series.

THE BIONIC WOMAN #2  is in comic stores now and at www.dynamite.net.
