A Review: THE TRANSFORMERS: WINDBLADE #1

The Fellowship was fortunate enough to obtain a copy of THE TRANSFORMERS: WINDBLADE #1 from IDW Publishing. The story is by Maighread Scott, with art by Sarah Stone, and lettering by Chris Mowry.

Windblade is the cityspeaker for Metroplex, who is so damaged that he cannot speak except in a very old language. She reluctantly serves Starscream, the new ruler of Cybertron. Neither one trusts either, making things even more difficult. Starscream demands Windblade to find out what is the cause of the recent blackouts all over the city. So, she and Chromia investigate not only the power failures, but to learn more about their new leader. She may learn a lot about both, but it may cost her…

I’ve been away from THE TRANSFORMERS for so long, and thought with this I can get back into them. I think I made the right choice. There is enough info of what has been going on provided that you can enjoy this comic, then go out and get the others if you are interested. Sarah Stone’s art is wonderful, she makes Windblade look like a beautiful woman while retaining the robot appearance. Maighread Scott puts together a very enticing mystery and it’s hard not to like the newest member of the Transformers. Check this one out!
