A Review: ARCHIE MEETS BATMAN ‘66 #1

The Fellowship was fortunate enough to obtain a copy of ARCHIE MEETS BATMAN ‘66 #1 from Archie Comics. The story is written by Jeff Parker & Michael Moreci; with pencils by Dan Parent, inks by J. Bone, coloring by Kelly Fitzpatrick, and lettering by Jack Morelli.

The 1966 World’s Science Fair being held in Gotham is suddenly disrupted by an attack from the beautiful but deadly Poison Ivy! The caped crusaders arrive and do their best to control the situation. Meanwhile, other Bat-villains have decided that Gotham City should not be placed they start their quest for world domination. They instead turn their focus to Riverdale; a city with no Bat infestation. Archie and his friends have no idea what evil is heading their way!

What a great start to what could be THE crossover of the summer, if not the year. Jeff Parker & Michael Moreci provide an exciting, humorous, and fast-moving script without sacrificing moments for all the major characters of the book.  Artists Dan Parent and J. Bone do a great job incorporating the BATMAN cast into the Archie-verse and make it look like it was meant to be. Kelly Fitzpatrick’s colors were perfect; she captured the vibe of the show. Check it out,!
