Normandy is a tough as nails sheriff in the state of
Oregon. A phone call she gets from her
sister Lila is suddenly interrupted with the sounds of her screaming. The local
law enforcement’s lack of concern to Lila’s murder (since she was a prostitute)
causes Normandy to take matters into her own hands. And Heaven help those who
try to stop her or get in her way…
Alison Gaylin and Megan Abbott, successful crime fiction
writers, have brought their talents to comics and it’s an impressive debut. They perfectly captured the vibe of the
exploitive/revenge stories from the 70’s. Steve Scott and Lovern Kindzierski
provide a beautiful, but deadly visual to this dark tale. NORMANDY GOLD is worthy
addition to the Hard Case Crime comics. Check it out.
