A Review: PLASTIC #1

The Fellowship was fortunate enough to obtain a copy of PLASTIC #1 from Image Comics. Doug Wagner writes, Daniel Hillyard draws, Laura Martin colors, and Ed Dukeshire letters.

Ten years as a government assassin can do things to a person. Given his skills and his background, Victor is doing alright for himself. He’s gotten himself out of the business, and he and Virginia are traveling, seeing the country. Apart from one small mishap, that is, which puts Victor in the hands of a local strongman, who holds Virginia hostage while Victor “works” for him.

There are certain story twists that I didn’t mention there, ones that I don’t want to spoil. Those twists make this a very interesting story, and they will make you want to get to know Victor better. Let’s just say there’s a lot going on here, and the art does a lovely job with the quick but brutal violence as well as building tension.

Victor will do anything for Virginia, but given his skill set how far will he be forced to go? What will Thaddeus gain from this unholy alliance? So many questions, and I for one can’t wait to get some of the answers.

PLASTIC #1 is available now from your local comic shop, or online at imagecomics.com.
