A Review: STAR TREK/GREEN LANTERN #1

The Fellowship was fortunate enough to obtain a copy of STAR TREK/GREEN LANTERN #1 from IDW Publishing. The story is by Mike Johnson, with art by Angel Hernandez, colors by Alejandro Sanchez, and lettering by Andworld Design.

It’s been six months since the Lanterns were thrown from their universe to the universe where Starfleet and the Federation exist. While Guy Gardner, Kilowog, and John Stewart remained on Earth, Hal Jordan and Carol Ferris joined the crew of the Enterprise and explored the universe. Meanwhile, Sinestro has become the Emperor of the Klingon Empire. Things seemed fine except for one thing…all of their rings were losing energy. Without Batteries to recharge them, all faced the very real possibilities of being powerless. When the Enterprise loses contact with Saint Walker, they race to find him. They come across an incredible discovery that will send shockwaves across the universe…

This follow up to the Spectrum War crossover is off to a pretty impressive start. As I have stated in previous reviews, Mike Johnson has done a great job with the Kelvin Star Trek crew. He handles the DC Comics characters just as well; nothing seems out of place (other than the characters themselves). Angel Hernandez does awesome job merging the characters together and makes it work, aided by Alejandro Sanchez awesome colors. We have an interesting mystery to solve and I’m along for the ride. Check it out.
