A Review: THROWAWAYS #1

The Fellowship was fortunate enough to obtain a copy of THROWAWAYS #1 from Image Comics. Caitlin Kittredge writes, Steven Sanders draws and colors, and Rachel Deering letters.

Abby is ex-military, well trained and full of bad attitude. Dean’s father did some crazy stuff in the past, and Dean is still paying for it. They don’t know each other at all, but now Abby’s starting to figure out some weird things about her old unit. And there’s someone on her former CO’s cell telling her to save Dean’s life. Abby just wants answers, and Dean wants to help. But neither of them knows what’s in store now.

This is one seriously tangled story, just the way I like ‘em. It’s got several other little twists to go with the ones I already listed, and every one of them could be its own story arc (and might be, before this is over). And it’s all layered together beautifully so far, as is the art, with its lively action scenes and amazing backgrounds.

So if you’re into cool action stories, or military conspiracy stories, or against-the-odds stories, or maybe even a little bit of weird science, you’re really gonna want to activate your programming and take a look at this book.

THROWAWAYS #1 is available now at your FLCS or at imagecomics.com.
