The Fellowship was fortunate enough to obtain a copy of WRATH OF THE ETERNAL WARRIOR #1 from Valiant Entertainment. Robert Venditti writes, with

Gilad has seen much in his six thousand years of battle. But
now we get to see part of him that none have ever seen. We get to see where he
goes when he dies, but before he comes back. He goes to a place where he is
loved, where he is comfortable, where he can rest. It doesn’t last long,
though, before he hears the call to return. But the place he returns to this
time is not the Earth he is accustomed to.
Gilad has long been my favorite horse in the Valiant stable.
That’s largely because he doesn’t rely on super powers to do the work; one of
his “super” powers is his experience, both in and out of combat. And wrath is
an emotion that builds slowly, over time, and time is Gilad’s other “super” power.
This issue is a really nice exercise in the slow build, showing us what he
gives up in protecting Earth. The art works with that slow build too, even and
especially in the summary of his latest death.
I have no idea how much wrath one can build over six millennia,
but it’s going to be a hell of a ride finding out. This is a great jumping-on
point.
