A Review: CUTTER #1

The Fellowship was fortunate enough to obtain a copy of CUTTER #1 from Image Comics and Top Cow Productions. Robert Napton and Seamus Kevin Fahey write, and Christian DiBari draws.

Jeremy is doing well for himself – he’s got a good job, a beautiful wife and a baby on the way. But when a couple of his old high school buddies are viciously murdered, he gets scared and starts to get ideas. He and his friends did something twenty years ago, and he’s starting to think this is about revenge. But how is that possible when the person involved died years ago?

This is a straight-up serial killer story, and it’s a good one. It builds suspense around Jeremy, letting him build up a nice semi-paranoid frenzy. It also feeds us some mystery around the killer – Jeremy is sure he knows who it is, but persuading others is going to take some work. Add to the mix some top-notch black & white art and it all fits together nicely.

And to top it off, it’s a weekly book running through October. So get yourself a nice Halloween gift by picking up this title. It’s good stuff.

CUTTER #1 is available now at your FLCS or at imagecomics.com.
