A Review: MONSTER MOTORS

The Fellowship was fortunate enough to obtain a copy of MONSTER MOTORS from IDW Publishing. The story is by Brian Lynch, with art by Nick Roche, colors by Leonard O’Grady, and letters by Tom B. Long.

Vic Frankenstein is a young master mechanic. He and his mechanical assistant iGOR have moved to Transylvania to take over the only garage/junkyard in town. Things are going fine until a series of attacks on the town’s vehicles finds them bleed of gasoline. Vic soon discovers that the attacker is a vampire automobile that calls itself Cadillacula! Can our hero get over his fear of this vehicle and end its terror? And are there others that are interested in joining this battle?

Lynch has done a great job of taking the classic monsters and put a cool twist on them with the vehicle angle. It’s really a fun book that has a lot of potential for future specials and mini-series. I like Nick Roche’s style; the monster vehicles look cool and scary, very appropriate for an all-ages book. Go ahead and pick this book up, you won’t regret it.

MONSTER MOTORS is in stores now, or available for ordering at www.idwpublishing.com.
