A Review: EPIC #1

The Fellowship was fortunate enough to obtain a copy of EPIC #1 from ComixTribe. Tyler James writes and Fico Ossio draws.

Eric was a normal teenager until his accident, and now he’s got super powers. He calls himself Epic now, and he’s slowly breaking into the super scene. His powers have a weakness, and it’s a pretty awkward one for a teenage boy. And there’s a new girl in school who has captured his interest (and who has a secret of her own). And whatever is happening to Mr. Webb is likely going to prove interesting.

Eric is a bright, funny kid, and his buddy Beanie is an off-the-charts genius. They make a great team, adding super-tech to the super powers. Developing a relationship with Shannon should make for a good storyline, and there’s also some potential fun with the werewolf. There’s a good balance of humor and action here so far, and the art is really well suited to both.

This issue is a great start to a new title from the folks who gave us The Red Ten. I’m looking forward to seeing where this one goes.

EPIC #1 is available now at your FLCS or at comixtribe.com.
