A Review: REVELATIONS #1

The Fellowship was fortunate enough to obtain a copy of REVELATIONS #1 from Boom! Studios. Paul Jenkins writes, Humberto Ramos draws, and Leonardo Olea and Edgar Delgado color.

Charlie is an irreverent British detective with a thing for conspiracy theory books. So when his old friend in the church asks him to come to the Vatican to look into an apparent suicide, he’s a little skeptical. But he’s soon embroiled in a murder that reeks of a cover-up, and he’s not sure who he can trust.

I call Charlie irreverent for two reasons, namely his attitude about the church and his narration style. He doesn’t seem to like the church people much, but he’s certainly a good cop. There’s also some nice mystery elements added into this issue, as well as a cardinal who doesn’t seem to like Charlie very much.

This is a nice mystery book with an entertaining protagonist and the potential for a huge conspiracy. I find myself looking forward to the next issue.

REVELATIONS #1 is available now at your FLCS and online at boom-studios.com.
