A Review: QUANTUM AND WOODY #5

The Fellowship was fortunate enough to obtain a copy of QUANTUM AND WOODY #5 from Valiant Comics. The story is by James Asmus, art by Ming Doyle, colors by Jordie Bellaire, and lettering by Dave Lanphear.

Woody is sent out to get a job, but you know him…he didn’t. He (with the Crone clone and goat) looked for new headquarters, and stumbled upon a secret lair of “would-be villains.” Meanwhile, Eric is trying to normalize his life by going back to work at Magnum Security (and return the equipment he stole).  He is about be to be surprised on several fronts, and given an great (or not) opportunity!

You have to feel for Eric; dealing with a pain in the butt  foster brother Woody, knowing that they have to stay together because they have to clang the metal bracelets every twenty-four hours or be dissolved into atoms. Asmus seems to take particular delight in torturing him, and I laughed (and rolled my eyes) every minute. While I miss Tom Fowler’s art, the not-so dynamic duo is in capable hands of Ming Doyle. This series has been a blast to read, highly recommended!

QUANTUM AND WOODY #5 is in stores now, or available to order at www.ValiantUniverse.com.
