A Review: TORCHBEARER #1

The Fellowship was fortunate enough to obtain a copy of TORCHBEARER #1 from Red Stylo Media. Nicolas Dedual writes, and Dennis Calero draws.

Selene is the Chief Research Officer for Prometheus Inc. She gets called in when several research labs are bombed simultaneously. A leak is suspected, so Selene plays a major role in tracking down the main suspect, a former researcher. But all is not what it seems, and whoever Cayoti is, he seems to know something.

This book is set in near future, with flying cars and some other cool high tech. Based on this first issue, it’s hard to tell who’s good and who’s bad. But that just makes it fun, really. I like the story so far; it asks more questions than it answers, which is a great plan for a first issue. Cool art, too, which also helps the Blade Runner-esque feel. Looks like a fun sci-fi ride with some interesting story potential.

Here’s another winner from Red Stylo. I love hearing from these guys. You never know what you’re getting, but it’s good stuff.

TORCHBEARER #1 is available by order from redstylo.com.
