A Review: VAMPIRELLA VS. FLUFFY THE VAMPIRE KILLER

The Fellowship was fortunate enough to obtain a copy of VAMPIRELLA VS FLUFFY THE VAMPIRE KILLER from Dynamite Comics. The story is by Mark Rahner, illustrated by Cezar Razek, and colors by In Light Studio.

Vampirella is undercover as a teacher to investigate attacks on high school couples by demonic Puritans. Little does Vampi know that this is the school where Fluffy the Vampire Killer attends! Is it a coincidence that the attacks are going on during “Abstinence Education Week?”  Can the vampire and the vampire killer join forces to take out this threat without getting on each other’s nerves too much?

This one-shot read like a lost episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer (you knew this was a parody of the show, right?). Rahner does a great job of capturing the voices of the Buffy cast. The humor is top notch, I laughed out loud when Vampirella noted that they got her to start quipping.  Cezar Razek’s art is very nice. He handles the action horror, and the beauty of both heroines. This one-shot is a fun book to pick up.

VAMPIRELLA VS. FLUFFY THE VAMPIRE KILLER is in stores now and available at www.dynamite.net.
