A Review: BRIK JONES: ATTORNEY FOR EARTH

The Fellowship was fortunate enough to obtain a copy of BRIK JONES: ATTORNEY FOR EARTH (ashcan edition) from Fighting Lion Comics. The story is created, written, lettered and designed by Phil Smith, and illustrated by Sid Kotian.

Meet Brik Jones, Earth’s legal defender in the interstellar justice system. He is aided by Marcia Mellowes – Brick’s “handler” and Earth’s Ambassador to the Interstellar community; “Shakey” R. Johnson – Brik’s alien assistant and ship engineer; and T.I.E., an artificial intelligent necktie that Brik wears.

"The Case of Case number 69" - Brik is defending a human accused of stealing narcotics grade plutonium with the intent to distribute to an alien mafia organization. Brik knows his client has been framed, but who is responsible? And will he be able to clear his client of the charges?

BRIK JONES: ATTORNEY FOR EARTH is an interesting concept that has a little of everything: courtroom drama, science fiction, action, and humor. This book has a lot of potential, and I want to see more of what is in store for Brik Jones and his associates. Writer/creator Phil Smith promises at least a five issue series…I hope for a longer run than that.
