A Review: RESIDENT ALIEN #3

The Fellowship was fortunate enough to obtain a copy of RESIDENT ALIEN #3 from Dark Horse Comics. Peter Hogan writes, and Steve Parkhouse draws.

The town is still no closer to catching the killer, and Harry is tracking down a lead of his own, which turns out to be a dud. But as it turns out, luck is on his side (depending on how you look at it); the killer shows up at his office and attacks Asta and him. Asta manages to shoot both Harry and the killer before the cops show up, and the killer is taken into custody. And Asta shares a secret with Harry…

This issue is the end of the arc, but there is a promise of more to come. And I’ll be looking forward to it. Harry is an interesting character, and I’d like to learn more about him, what his mission was and how he’s managed to adopt Earth as his home. And Patience seems like a nice town containing good characters, which means it’s well written (because I assume that was the plan J ). I like the art as well.

This is a nice, simple story that is well executed and very likable. It doesn’t overextend itself, and that lets the characters build and develop. It’s a nice change of pace from some of the overblown titles out there right now. Check it out.

RESIDENT ALIEN #3 is available now at your FLCS or by order from darkhorse.com.
