A Review: WONDERLAND #6

The Fellowship was fortunate enough to obtain a copy of WONDERLAND #6 from Zenescope Entertainment. Raven Gregory writes, and Gerard Conte and Sheldon Goh draw.

Calie has gotten Violet back to our world, but Violet hasn’t quite snapped out of it yet. She’s with it enough to make a new friend, though. And the new Queen of Hearts has a plan to solidify her rule in Wonderland, but the ramifications for our world might be problematic. And the Queen of Spades is out to stop her, of course. Oh, and someone’s doing some recruiting in our world.

A very busy issue all around. That’s a good thing, though. We get plenty of threads in this story, which makes for plenty of reasons to keep reading. I couldn’t really tell if the new red queen was a good guy or a bad guy, but that really just makes it more interesting. We’re obviously pulling for Calie and Violet. And I’m pretty sure we’re supposed to not like what’s going on at the club, but who knows? And that’s what makes this book fun.

I like the idea of this as an ongoing series. The drama is there, and it’s doing a nice job of building suspense. The characters are likable (some in an evil way, of course). Good solid modern fantasy makes for a great read.

WONDERLAND #6 is available now at your FLCS or by order from zenescope.com.
