A Review: DINOSAUR ART: THE WORLD'S GREATEST PALEOART

The Fellowship was fortunate enough to obtain a copy of DINOSAUR ART: THE WORLD'S GREATEST PALEOART from Titan Books. The book is edited by Steve White, with a forward by Philip J. Currie and an introduction by Scott D. Sampson.

DINOSAUR ART features ten of the top contemporary paleoartists as they show some of their work and discuss their style. A paleoartist is “an illustrator who specializes in the science and art of reconstructing ancient animals and their world.” The paleoartists featured in this book include: Mauricio Anton, John Conway, Julius Csotonyi, Douglas Henderson, Todd Marshall, Raul Martin, Robert Nicholls, Gregory S Paul, Luis Rey, and John Sibbick.

This is a fascinating book and all pieces are extremely beautiful.  The paleoartists’ art methods range from pencils and inks to digital paintings and everything in between. Each section focuses on one paleoartist where you find out how he got into the field; their inspirations; and work methods. If you are interested in dinosaurs, a fan of beautiful art, or both - you should check this book out.
