A Review: WRATH OF THE ETERNAL WARRIOR #11

The Fellowship was fortunate enough to obtain a copy of WRATH OF THE ETERNAL WARRIOR #11 from Valiant Entertainment. The story is by Robert Venditti, with art by Robert Gill, colors by Mike Spicer and lettering by Dave Sharpe.

Gilad (the Eternal Warrior) has sought out his friend Aric (X-O Manowar) to ask a favor…kill him. He wishes to return to the afterlife to make amends with his family, particularly his son Kalam. Aric reluctantly complies and Gilad is gone. He wakes up in the afterlife only to find out that Kalam has gone into the woods which leads our Warrior back into the land of the living. Gilad prepares himself to locate his son, and the dangers that lay ahead…

I truly loved the interaction between Aric and Gilad. It FEELS like an old relationship. Really like to see these two teamed up with Colin King (Ninjak) on a regular basis. Robert Venditti delivers a powerful script; you can feel the weight Gilad has been carrying for such a long time. Robert Gill and Mike Spicer supply a top notch visual that’s hard not to go back and admire. Valiant consistently knocks it out of the park, with ETERNAL WARRIOR being one of the strongest titles. If you haven’t yet, now is the time to get on board.
