A Review: SLEEPY HOLLOW #1

The Fellowship was fortunate enough to obtain a copy of SLEEPY HOLLOW #1 from BOOM! Studios. Marguerite Bennett writes, Jorge Coelho draws and Tamra Bonvillain colors.

Crane and Abbie are called in on a single-vehicle accident, and the girl who witnessed it appears to be possessed. Then they get a call about a nice old lady killing a boy while trying to heal him. The evidence points to witches, so they head for the old catacombs, which is near the harvest festival. Will they save the party, and how?

This title is based on the hit Fox series, and it reads quite a lot like a supernatural cop show. Crane is, of course, Ichabod Crane, recently awakened to fight the apocalypse, and Abbie is the cop assigned to him. It’s a fun little story, though, and the art does a nice job of showing supernatural weirdness when it pops up.

If you like TV cop shows, I think you’ll like this book. And it goes without saying that if you like the show or supernatural stories in general, you should pick this book up.

SLEEPY HOLLOW #1 is available now at your FLCS or at boom-studios.com.
